Ture of False - Foreclosures are on the rise?
It’s important to have the right perspective when you hear things in the media – sensational headlines are meant to grab attention, not necessarily to give you all the facts.
If we look at this chart from our friends at Keeping Current Matters, we’ll see that the number of consumers with new foreclosures HAS increased, but the number of foreclosures is still incredibly lower today than in the past years. In 2008, 2009, and 2010, we peaked at 2 million foreclosures. Today, we have about 88,000. Don’t let the headlines scare you!
If you’re thinking about selling your house, this means you don’t have to worry about a wave of foreclosures making home prices crash.
