HOME Has Never Been So Vital |

Happy Autumn! Here we are already into 4th quarter and heading quickly into the holiday season. Right now, more than ever, our homes are taking "front and center" in our lives. We work from home (#WFH ☺️)️, school from home, cook, eat and sleep at home.... and everything in between. It has become the refuge where we conduct our lives during this pandemic and make plans on how to navigate into the future. Really it's always been about the home, right? Of course, and one thing is certain, we have spent more time there in the last 7-8 months than in years past. A deeper appreciation for our homes and home life has indeed emerged!
In fact, there is a lot of good happening in our market right now. We are seeing a surge of home buying in the Dallas market. According to the latest reports, Dallas County leads the area in home price gains. Median home sales prices in Dallas County were up more than $16% last month from a year earlier! Prices for all of North Texas were 10% higher than in September 2019. So from our viewpoint, it's a good time to buy AND a good time to sell.
Overall, our clients and prospects are desirous of a home that can meet their current needs of more space, design that accommodates our new normal, and expanded space to comfortably live and play outdoors. Home Trends in Color for 2021 |

Every fall Benjamin Moore reveals color trends for the coming year. As designers predicted a variety of colors, one thing they all referenced were nature, soothing feelings, and happiness - for the obvious reasons! The ultimate color chosen by Benjamin Moore and as seen in the photo above is Aegean Teal #2136-40, and it definitely takes into account many of these factors.
"It has a really beautiful blend of blue and green with a touch of gray that gives a softened elegance that's very inviting," says Andrea Magno, director of color marketing and development at Benjamin Moore. This year, she notes, "we really looked to the home" for inspiration. Though the color was selected prior to the coronavirus pandemic and ensuing stay-at-home orders, it proved apt: "We started taking a critical look at the modern home two years ago, and that examination only deepened this year, as the home truly grew to become the center of our lives," Magno tells House Beautiful. "As the events of 2020 unfolded, we felt strongly that Aegean Teal continued to resonate in the home, possibly more so as the importance and expectations of the home reached new levels."
